Eighteen Months, Baby!

Baby..baby..baby.. you are officially one and a half year of age. I cant believe time flies really fast. You re not even a baby anymore, eventhough sometimes we still treat you like a tiny little baby. hehe.

So whats new? well...hes officially drinking formula now. Yep.. I was one of those mothers who swore not to give the baby a formula ever. But look what Ive done now... Okay, so I give him formula because I am sooooo super desperate on feeding my baby. Hes been so hard to eat for quite a long time in my opinion. This really makes me cry, angry, worry, and everything. His growth and developments are pretty amazing but he just not gaining any weight since he was around 14 months. I mean... of course he gains weight but its extremely slow and just a little. I notice the theory saying as the baby grows older and having so much activity, they wont be gaining weight as fast and as much as when theyre under 12 months. Okay, I get that. But this??? added with his unwillingness to eat.. really preasured me.

In this 18 months he only weighs 10 kg. Isnt that horrible?? Oh dear God, pleaseeee... help me. The most hurting me is when my baby's grandparents keep saying that he is so skinny now. How can a mother not feeling depressed stressed sad and terrible hearing that. Another thing that really break my heart is whenever I see someone his age that is bigger, fatter than him. I cant take that. I just cant. At first, I wasnt really paying attention to other babies weight. I didnt even care. But as my parents and my in laws keep saying that... it really bugs me, so I begin comparing my baby to others. Ahh this is so frustraring.

My baby still drink breastmilk of course, and I thank God for that. But I also supplement him with a formula. I remember the first time at store I was so confused on how much formula options they had. So I just picked one that not too expensive nor too cheap. It was Morinaga Chilkid regular. I also give him Scotts emultion. Yeah.. I kinda lost in babys supplementation commercial. But guess what? He does NOT like that emultion. Even it has orange flavor and not so fishy. Okay.. about the formula. I thought hes gonna be delighted to drink milk, but unfortunately... not really.. hhhmmm.. So I kinda force him to drink it sometimes. For the formula, I give him regularly 2-3 times a day between 90-120 ml. I have not seen the difference or improvement yet after consuming the formula for 2 weeks, but Im hoping so bad that it really does him any good. So we ll see after a month. Finger crossed.
