(Living with) Stretch marks

Who doesnt have stretch mark after pregnancy?? Then you are super lucky, but I believe 90% of women who have kids have that. Whether its a lot or just a tiny bit of stretch marks (still look horrible thou). I do have stretch marks on certain part of my body, but thanked God its mild and just a little. Still hate it thou.

What is stretch mark anyway? how does it happen? Well, stretchmark is that annoying and weird looking line appear on your skin. It really has that kinda signature mark, which is so ugly in my opinion. It can appear about everywhere of your body like on your tummy, breast, thigh, calf, butt, arm, everywhere. It happens when your body gain extreme weight. Like when you are pregnant, your body grow faster than your skin can keep up with. It causes the elastic fibers under the surface of the skin to break, resulting stretch marks. Old people been saying that if you are pregnant you must not scratch your itchy skin cause it will leave some lines there. Well hey, the truth is that lines are not from the scratch, but from the stretch of your body. Thats why its called stretch marks. The itchy sensation is just a part of skin breaking/stretching mechanism.

The ugliest truth about stretch marks is that once you have it, you re gonna live with it your entire life! Aint there are creams for stretch marks? Yep, but theres no such thing as magic cream that will get rid off the lines, except you re doing a surgery or laser thingy. Glyderm, Mustela, Dermatix, you name it. I can assure they wont make the lines dissapear. Dermatix cant even get that little acne scar off my face, eventhough Ive already used it intensively for 6 months. All that creams may reduce probably 10% the apparance of the lines after months and months or years and years of using it frequently and intensively. This means 90% still visible.

The only thing you can do is to prevent it to happen when you re still pregnant. You have to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. As for me, I ve done it all when I was pregnant. I tried to prevent it by drinking lotsa water (since preggo made me thirsty all the time), mousturized my body especially around the itchy skin area with body lotion, body butter, even olive oil. But hey, after I gave birth the lines were more obvious. Even I tried to prevent it, it still appear. So you guys gotta face the fact that preggo will cause you some stretch marks, whether just fine little lines or lotsa worst lines. Thats just the way it is. Prevention is a must, but you have to keep in mind that it wont prevent you 100%. They will still show up.

Ah well, I have like smooth tummy before, but now I see small lines there. Yeah, whatever. I just gonna live with it, take it in possitive way as a sign that I been pregnant.  Just to entertain myself. LOL.
